Getting Broken Asphalt into FEL Bucket

I just had 25 loads of broken up asphalt hauled onto my property (part of a road repair project). Most pieces are about two feet across. I have been trying to load this stuff into a front end loader bucket to move to various locations around my property. I can not seem to get it to go into my bucket without a lot of physical labor (placing into the bucket by hand). This is not feasible for the long haul. What is the trick on loading this broken up asphalt into my FEL bucket? Any ideas?

You need some tines on the bucket like a manure loader bucket has.

I did the same thing with many loads. The loads were dumped from a tri axle and left in tall piles so they backed each other up. I used a large track loader with a 8 ft wide bucket and kept the bucket even with the original ground and had no trouble. If your loads are spread out or you are trying to use some thing like a 8n with a manure bucket on it you have your work cut out for you.

If you can get under the pieces in question and pick them up, drop them and they will break into smaller pieces. Just get under one corner and pick up that corner until it falls onto a hard surface. Another way to get the pieces smaller is to get one piece leaning onto another and drive your front tire onto the spot with no support under it. Good luck.

tip the bucket down and go under and scoop up. does not always work like that though. if u have something that will backup the load that helps a lot. "out in the real world, things never work like they do in the movies".

Well you have 2 Options actually. You can use another tractor with 3 point and a backblade to fill your bucket while you stay stationary . The other is to have it dropped where it is " backed -Up ' by an Inanimate Object , Sand Pile , Dirt Pile , Hill on property , John Deere Tractor ETC !! have you ever heard of the " 7-P's" Prior Proper Planning Prevents Pi&& Poor Performance . I can help you cuz I have done the exact same thing . As I get Older My father sure seems to get Smarter ??
