Hi Guys,

Guess my favorite tractor is the one that I'm on at any particular time.

But today, it has just gotta be this little H.

Boy! Did that ever bring back memories when I grabbed that hay head to move it out across the stack yard. Haven't seen that view out over the hood and into the haybasket since the 60s. :>)

Allan, That last picture looks like something my day had mounted on the front of our F 12. Dad called it a buck rake. Dad would cut the hay and put it in shocks and use the buck rake to bring the piles hay with snakes and mice still attached to the stationary bailer. I wasen't very old, and thought my arms would fall off from pitching hay to the hungry bailer. Seams like it took seven people to bail hay. That was a long time ago, Stan

Yep,

The buck sweep was kinda the same; a bit smaller, made out of wood and you couldn't lift the sweep teeth tips only about 2 or 3 feet off the ground. Lots of guys used a buck sweep to feed these loaders.

This joker when mounted on that F-10 and tilted back, can use that stainless steel push-off fence to push a 4,000 lb load of hay up to 27 feet in the air when fully extended. I can remember being up on those monster stacks, the loader would have it's nose buried so far into the stack at ground level that I couldn't even see the darned tractor. Just those arms and the sweep head "in your face". :>)

I miss the hay stackin', but I don't miss the hay stackin', if ya know what I mean. :>)

I sure wish that 650 were closer. Been looking for one. Seems like every time I have found one the coocie jar is empty or it is out in the boonies (from here that is). I did get that 17gpm hydrolic pump swapped onto my 504 Allan. It seems to work much nicer whaen I am moving all the controls at the same time moving snow. I still think an H is the all time best tractor ever made.

I think your next purchase is gonna be a machine shed Allan. You got a lot of iron sitting out in the snowbanks.

What model loader is that?

I would like to put a nice loader on my H, along with a 3-point someday - make it 100% useable instead of just the 95% it is now... LOL

Hi Steven,

The loader mounted on the H now is a Farmhand F-11. The one I'm unloading is a F-10, which is a far better outfit.

Kind of a tiger to put on and off tho.

We had an F-11 on an M, 400, then 656 hydro. I liked that loader, nice reach - but not really tough enough for 1400 lb bales. I thought maybe yours was an F25...

Now we have a Farmhand 235 on the 1256 and a Buhler Allied on the 2590 Case.

I have to laugh when I picture you getting on and off the H to set up the shots.

Yeah,

When you're by yerself, you're really by yerself out in this country. Just me and one derned rabbit who kept a close eye on my coming and going.

Oh well, had to get off and on to chain and unchain anywho. :>)
