does any one know if you can turn up the hydraulic pump on a Farmall H? I realize this is not a very big tractor but it should still be able to lift a hay mower. Thanks for all inquires.

Change the oil out. When it breaks down it won't lift well at all. It should lift a mower with no problem whatsoever. If the oil is good then the gear pump is bad. They go for about $50 used.

There was an update kit to increase pressure many years ago; if the pump gears are not worn and the clearances reduced on the pump so the gears have minimum clearance the pressure can get up to 900 PSI or thereabouts.

An H does not put out a lot of pressure. You might try a larger diameter cylinder.
