Whats the best way to clean out a rusty carb. I have soaked it and everything is loose but the bottem of the bowl is full of hard rustlike deposits about 1/4 inch deep. Any ideas?

If its cast iron, soak it in white vinegar or if that is not working wash it off and soak in Coca-cola (yes, the 'real thing.') if that doesn't get it, move up to CLR. Just don't soak it too long.

The vinegar is the weakest. That is why i reccommend start with it. And if its dark vinegar it kinda leaves a pulpy residue you have to get off with soap.

Yep, bead blasting is the only way.

I would use a beed blast as the last option. That grit gets in places where it is almost impossible to remove without taking out all the factory installed plugs. Just use a scraper of some kind and scrape away. Stan
