I've got a little Carb & Parts cleaner left from a carb rebuild, and was wondering about using it in a tank of gasoline and run it through the fuel system to burn it. Any problems doing this? Is this chemical the same as the Carb and Choke cleaner that one sprays into a running carburetor?
Thanks.

I agree with the earlier posts. Actually the soaking carb cleaner can be reused. I have a 5 gal bucket that I bought used over 15 years ago, still works OK.

If you are talking about the aresol spray type. Keep it and use around the shop for parts clean up. I buy that stuff by the case.

Well if its any thing like the stuff I use it will not burn, plus it messes up any plastic parts. I use beemans just to let you know.

If it's classic carb cleaner in a pail, likely it's cresylic acid. Nasty stuff, you certainly wouldn't want to put it in the gas tank, as it attacks any plastic, organic, or rubber parts there may be in the fuel system. (Gaskets, hoses, seals, etc..
