A buddy of mine bought a new trailer and was dissapointed in the trade in value of his old one. He swung it by here and said I would rather give this to you than take a bath! Now I have never owned a trailer before and managed to get into a lot of trouble with the Mrs. centering about old rusty crap showing up. Ifn I don't post any more keep an eye in the obits or at least the divorce notice section of the paper!

Don't care too much for the trailer but would love to take the bird out for a little spin, haven't been up in a while and have to go and get a new medical certificate, used to love taking off and getting on the ham radio from the plane, I would get on the 146.85 repeater in the twin cities or the 145.33 repeater in Rush City and put my call out aeronautical mobile and then go to a simplex frequency, you wouldn't believe how far you can talk with a couple watts when you are that far up in the sky..

Don't think it will haul more than a very small tractor. Don't know about airplane engines, etc.
They are super handy, though. Resale value here is good. Sounds like the dealer was trying to rip off your friend.

Been there with an almost identical trailer 'bout a year ago. Neighbor and I bought it together and split it. Parked out by my shed, the wife eventually asked, Whose is that? I told her it was my neighbor's (No lie!!) A month later it is in his yard for a while, he has the same conversation with his wife, now everyone's happy both wives think it belongs to the other guy!! Good luck with it, they are sure handy.

What kind of bird do you have there? Sorta reminds me of dad's old T-craft. Looks like you can actually drive into your hanger..last time i visited my dad..now in his 70's..there was barely enough room to navigate around the 3 planes and all the dadburned junk..talk about a packrat! And it's a big steel building like yours..plumb full. Airplanes are something that never got in my blood...an expensive and deep hole to toss copius amounts of money down and it seems the owners spend 95% of their time talking about flying and tinkering and maybe %5 actually in the air. I will confess, a Spartan Executive might change my attitude a bit:).

That is a 1941 J5 undergoing an annual inspection. I am helping a friend restore a 46 J3 too. Yes airplane were devised by the devil hisself to keep the abitious but weak of mind poor. I just bought a crankshaft (SUPRISE!) yesterday for a Cherokee (my trainer) for $3,700. I priced a reconditioned one at $3,500 and figured... Might as well buy new. A Spartin Exec is a cool airplane but isn't a money hole anymore than the Grande Canyon is a tile ditch. Both are things of beauty though.

Sloroll,

Well, with enough coins you can fill up a money hole and enough pipe you can tile the Grand Canyon..but the question remains; why? hehehe!

The old man has a '46 J3 fully restored, the '46 T craft has been 'in process' for 20 years, the '72 150 spamcan got fresh paint last fall and there is a 180 getting a wing, a 195 awaiting the full monte, add the pot a '46 Oliver 60 and all I see is a pile of parts, and cloth and tube toys. My sisters can fight over it..washed my hands with all that a long time ago.

Slo roll, Did not mean to sound negative, just 2 cents from a thrice burnt owner. Sold an older Grain truck in great condition to a relative for $1.00 To avoid problems. Good luck

Congratulations on the trailer. Now, before it starts, let all friends/neighbors and relatives know there is a lock on the hitch and permission is required. Also all damage (use a digital camera if needed) is to be repaired by user. Check with your insurance agent if you could be liable as owner if a "borrower" has an accident. Hate to sound negative but have been abused so bad with trailers and somewhat with machinery. I Hope you never have a problem.

Just remind here that trailers can be used to haul stuff away just as well as haul stuff home. Then you can use it to move your stuff off the front porch to your new location. Thats a good handy looking trailer though and the prices was definately right.

You are going to find so many uses for that thing. You will eventually wonder how you ever did without one. Looks to be a 16 foot utility.

Bill a trailer is just like a machine shed. Once you have one, it"ll never be big enough and you"ll never understand how you got along without it. I can remember about two loads of stuff up there that you can use that thing for already and I ain"t been there in two weeks. Good going. Harley
