Friend is restoring his 1936 B. he would turn the engine over every few weeks to keep it free. He removed the mag, painted the tractor and now for some reason, the engine is locked up. the engine was still free after he removed the mag.
Any ideas what/where to look for the cause? Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Pull the plugs and see if it will turn if not use some air to blow in the cylinders and see if you get water out of them. If you do then fill them with tranny fluid and let it sit a few days and see if that frees it up.

Remove the plugs. It may be hydraulic lock from water or fuel in the cylinders.Could be as easy as dry cylinders from lack of lubrication on the cylinder walls also.
