I've had two 1100's over the years, a very early model that I traded for an 1130. And a late model (1972) with a factory rollbar and canopy that I still own. Would'nt be without it.

we had an 1130
2 1135's
3 1155's
3 2805's
2 2705's

the problems with the Multi power??? not much on an 1130 that I rembember.

the Hydralic system on all of ours were not as good as any of the Green companies tractors we've had.. but the down pressure 3pt is a good thing... but they stopped that with the next models.. bummer.

I know the Gas 1100's had some crank issues' but it was live able..

I have an 1100 Massey and when I hear the complaints about losing brakes when the engine stalls or other quirks that were mentioned below I just wonder if these people ever read the operators manual. I like to say the Multipower is tougher then any other 2 speed hydraulic shift. The hydraulics are better then Deere's and easier to work on. It has a hydraulic seat, an unloading valve for easy starting, and you can check and add oil, trans fluid and fuel while standing on the ground. Best of all they are cheap reliable HP.

that looks like some beutiful country there in New York. I have a Massey 1105 and absolutley love it, can't imagine paying so much more for a green earlier vintage tractor that has less bells and whistles.

Whats with ear muffs,Noisy,Deere isn't that bad.PARTS NOW,I can only think of one or two MF dealers who are still in busness after the Agco takeover and all the new ones could care less and Agco doesn't seem to want to support the older Equipment.Agco has put about all the dealers out around us out if they didn't like their volume regardless of how successful and creditworthy they were.

Hey all my tractors are noisy. Dosn't matter if it's my JD 50 or my Massey 1100 I wear ear protection no matter what. As for parts I rebuild and repair all kinds of tractors and equipment on the side. I can get parts for Massey just as easy as I can any other brand. Most parts are at my door the next day before noon if I order by 5pm.

Heavy tractor. There was an option for cast rear wheel rims for more weight. You have power reserved for brakes for 1, one, uno stop if you stall the engine. Multi low has no engine braking going down hill. The '70 should have differential lock. You have down pressure on the 3 point hitch. Complex hydraulic pump arrangement, brother's was slow to respond. The shift mechanism can wear and be difficult to shift. The seat adjustment is tapped off the hydraulic supply!

Neighbor had all Massey's and he really liked them. They were run hard and put away wet and did not seem to be broke down much. I understand the 1130 was a turbo 1100, with some internal mods, spray cooled pistons for instance. You have ground and transmission pto. Same neighbor had a 1000 to 540 pto adaptor so he could bale hay at idle.

Some of them had "issues" with the multi-power, other than that it"s a good tractor, love the one we have, if I ever find another one in good shape I would buy it.
