This damn heat and it's only April. Been in the upper 90s all week, then yesterday 101!!!!! What is this about. Today is supposed to be the same or a little hotter. Shattering all the records. We need some relief. We haven't had rain in about a month, and even that one wasn't that good. We have beans up and sudan struggling to come up. We are in dire straits if it doesn't because we have to have the hay. Pray for some relief.

thanks

A dry heat we didn't need today for more fire danger. 80s and 4% humidity and 30-40 mph winds again. Luckily no fires today and hard to stop them when it's this dry. Guess I need to check those trees again that burned yesterday that are still going out.

Haven't been to 100 yet in panhandle but close. Only thing growing here is wheat under pivots circles and it will go for hay or silage. Has bugs in it and looks worse everyday from heat and wind. Custom cutter from your area was up here looking around last week and just no use in them coming around to cut wheat this time as what little there is will go for feed. Don't know how grain elevators will stay in business no more than they got last year. Every feed yard is full of cattle and been feeding since October with little grazing. Not enough moisture to even think about planting anything here yet. Cooler here today and cool is coming down from north later. We had more fires yesterday and everyone on pins and needles today with more 40-50 mph wind and single digit humidity. Yeah, it's getting old but they say some slight rain chances again by weekend.

Cooled down to 70 this evening when cooler air got here from Allen's snow up north. Yeah, guys here keep asking me what are going to do when and if lightning ever starts popping here and about all we can do is do the best can fighting what we can let the rest burn. Think rain and pray for rain and pray it all goes well.

Tex,

Lots of the neghbors around here have been selling hay that is headed to Texas.

Outfit over in the next town is grinding the stuff up and compressing it somehow so that they can haul a decent sized load and still deliver it down there for $110 a ton.

Feel for ya, nothing worse than no rain.

Allan
