Tractor will run for 2to 3 min. then cuts out and sometimes will sputter and then run and then quits.
I pulled the carb. off and cleaned it but I don't belive their is anything wrong with the carb.

try loosening the gas cap to see if that helps, the vent becoming plugged is not unusual. also pull the drian plug at the bottom of the carb and check for fuel flow when it stops. Alos condenses and coils will cause this.

Check the screen on the fuel line going into the carbuetor I would bet it is plugged. I have had it happen to me.

Rightafter it does that check the spark, also if you choke it will it keep running?? If it does then you have carb/fuel problem. I'd also pull the drain plug from the bottom of the carb and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas. If you don't have a good steady flow you need to check the sediment bowl and fuel line for clogs, if no clogs in the line then it has to be in the carb

Old,

Nice web site. Are you in Missouri? I noticed the fact that you were in the Parade of tractors in Eldon. I have family there (Mother and sis). Good job on both the Olivers and especially the A.C. road patrol.

Yep I'm in Missouri, Camdenton which is about 40 miles from Eldon. That WC-Speed patrol went in my shop the first week of sept and came out and was ready for the show by the 23rd of sept. Since the guys in the club said they had never had one at there show I figured I'd make sure they did this year.

sounds like a fireing problem to me, try new points, plugs, and condensor, pretty common with a farmall

Yes I found that when I put a timming light on it was loosing spark and then if the spark came back fast enought it would continue to run. Any way I unbolted the mag. and took the assembly off when I removed the points they were pited. Then I took the coil out then when I removed the nut and removed the condenser I found that the wire comming from the coil was not on the condenser stud but under the stud I hope this was the problem. I put new points in and gaped them at .020 is that right. Thanks Dennis
