Hi guys; fitted upright exhaust stack on my BR as an experiment. Got the idea from old copy of Two Cyl magazine featuring BO in late 30's photo.Used broken elbow and fitted cast exhaust off olf MF.
Makes my tractor sound very quiet, but may be down on power due to restriction of gasses thro the baffles & smaller outlet pipe.
Any suggestions and comments welcome.

my only comment is if it's gonna be outside you should add a rain cap otherwise you will end up with water in your engine.

Hi Dave, when I got my BR in "95 the exhaust was vertical but was too close to the hood so after painting I placed it horizontal but then I found it was discoloring the inside of the front rim so then I pointed it down as it is today,if interested to see its in Tractor Photos under Dan Carter or Dan from Alberta,Good luck with your BR,Dan.

Dan, Very nicely restored BR. What part of Alberta are you from? My wife's relations farm near Bruderhiem in eastern Alberta.
My BR came from Saskatchewan originally. No history unfortunately.
Best regards David

Hi Dave,I am north of Bruderhiem about 1 1/2 hrs.Have a highschool buddy that lives there, works at the Ft.Saskatchewan petrol plants. I found my BR a mile from home, had to get some remanufactured fenders, the rest was original until painted.Dan in Alberta

I suppose it's too late now; but could you burn out the baffles a little bit with a full length rod on an arc welder? The muffler looks small but the pipe outlet doesn't. I like your idea. In my opinion, a tractor is supposed to have vertical exhaust. By the way, what part of England are you from? Glenn F.

The tractor arrived with lower section of exhaust broken off, so turned it up uphill & pushed the old MF exhaust down inside. Not welded up (yet). Needs spacer between manifold & exhaust to move muffler away from side of hood to save decals burning.I also got a new repro correct exhaust which is very noisy.
Why did Deere fit these exhausts to BR & BO when the AR had vertical exhaust stack?
Nope - aint going to paint it red !!!
I live in Shropshire County, west of middle England bordering Wales. Highly productive arable farming region, grain, sugarbeet, potatoes, oil seed rape & vegetables grown locally.
