I was thinking this year I would make little square bales for a friend of mine. It would only be very little. Is it worth it to do this? I was thinking 2.00 dollars a bale sounds right or no? I have all the equipment to do it. The grass is mixed all kinds of other grasses. Just looking for something to do this summmer. I am located in
Cleveland Wisconsin. Let me know what you think of this or if you would like some hay.

Ryan; Is that at the field, loaded on wagons etc etc That price for me is cheap stuff on the ground in the field. They have to load period. You will also find out if not baled correctly you will have nto much to sell anyway. Friends for hay customers sometimes can also turn out to be the worst paying customers also. Otherwise go for it but just giving you some heads uop on the real world of this.

His grass his land or yours? His land $2 is pretty good. I do $1.50 a bale to custom bale.
Your grass $3 is better.
All fun and games until you blow out your rear pto unit on some one elses 200 bales of hay and your out $500 in parts. Or run a big rock through your haybine. Ask me how I know this? :-)
I dont custom cut any more. There is a reason no one else will do it. Not trying to disurage you but have both eye open before you do it.

Kelly C; I told you running around for all those little patches would get old and costly. I bet you wife is happy now to not having to do all the shuffle of stuff for patch here patch there. Still loading it all by hand yet. Good Luck. Every body thinks its so easy to do it and cost ya nothing. Ha Ha I am going start second cutting next week.
