Wasn't much different at Nixon's sale in Strawberry Point....F-30 Cane unrestored brought $17,500.00, an Overtime chain steer that needed re-restored brought $64,00.00 and went to Belguim, the Waterloo Boy auto steer brought $54,00.00. Avery Ro-Trac brought $27,000.00, and an Oliver 70 with a cab brought $11,500.00. Seemed to be no shortage of money this weekend!

There are some CRAZY prices over here in England being paid for quite rare classic tractors from the 1960's & 70's. With money invested today bringing in around 4.5% before tax, theres no point in having a piece of paper to look at compared to a nice tractor that you can have fun with.
Some farmers have given up farming themselves and are renting our their farms and selling their current machinery. Tax laws here let them use that money to buy (antique) tractors as a tax break. Shame becuase high prices mean that younger collectors cant afford to get into this great hobby.
Hope you US farmers are having a better time than we are here in England.
Regards David

Where was that? Where do people get $160,000 for a tractor just to look at?

Aution in Mohnomen MN today, JD 4020 w/3pt brought 7000, Farmall H 4500, CO-OP #3 was 5500 (I think) and a Case 4490 with 8 good tires for 4200. I bid on a 51 Chev grain truck but lost it, and bought a nice hay wagon with new treated wood deck JD running gear. Trailed home at 55 real nice. And the real strange one, a couple of those little push type cultivators for the garden, $50.00 each. Crazy. Have a good day- Bob
