Been looking for a truck a long time- got good advice here on diesels. So I thought I found THE truck (F250 with 7.3) and was on my way. Got there just as the dealer was putting out a very similar F350 (not a dually). It put just enough doubt in my mind that maybe I should get the F350. I know that the 3/4 ton would probably be just fine 99% of the time. How would you decide?

The biggest diff. is the front end the 3/4 ton has a independent type front end on leaf spring. Lots of bushings but nice ride. the 1 ton uses a straight axle up front ride not as soft but less moving parts. But a 1 ton is not known for a soft ride. Do the 1 ton you'll be happier.

yall are both right but the only difference frame wise the one ton has dually axles and a heavier frame except it is a single wheel. but i would go with the dually if you are going to be pulling alot cause it is more stable on corners with topheavy loads

On a F-250 or an F -350 single rear wheel there is no difference in the actual truck except for a spacer block under the rear springs, same springs, rear end tires wheels ect, The weight rating on the door will be higher but they are the same truck. A dodge is the same way, no difference excet for clearange lights and overload springs are standard on the 3500 and are an option on the 2500. Unless you need the higher GVW rating numbers I wouldn"t give a dollar difference. I had a 2004.5 dodge 2500 and traded for a 2004.5 3500 SRW and I talked to the parts dept. at the dealer. We looked at the part list on his computer and the part numbers were the same. HTH, Nat

Those two trucks are very similar. Look at the GVW rating, the axle ratings, and finally the axle ratios. Options on an F250 could be standard on the F350. Axle ratios will determine what you can pull and how far you can go on a gallon fo fuel.

When I was looking for a truck , I found that some of the options I would have had to pay extra for on
a 3/4 ton truck were standard on the one ton. I bought the one ton.

Depending on the year of machine you're looking at, the superdutys have a difference in front axle between the 3/4 and 1 ton. 3/4 has a dana 50 I believe and the 1 ton is the 60. The 50 is a oddball axle.
