What'dya do, put some glasspacks on it?. I just put dual exhaust 40 series Flowmasters on my 5.0 mustang. Guy at the parts store said they were loud ones, and so did the local mechanic, but I was pretty disappointed with the sound myself, they're just too quiet for me. The 40 series are the loudest of the street mufflers, but they only sound real good at 2,000-2,500rpms, any more or any less, and it goes pretty quiet almost like stock ones, which disapointed me as I thought it would be loud all the way up through the rpm range. If I'd have known what they were going to sound like I would have gone with the 10 series race mufflers or possibly the outlaw series race mufflers. I kinda didn't want glasspacks because at idle you get a "Bhlub bhlub bhlub" sound and I was looking for an excellent quality tuned exhaust that would sound awesome when I stepped on it but 2,000-2,500 rpms is not what I was looking for. I paid through the nose for these Flowmaster 40 series, $80 a piece for them, I cold have put glasspacks on for $30 a piece and I would have been happier with the sound. Live and learn, and I thought I had done my homework though on these mufflers, everyone said they were loud, stopped by the local garage and asked about what he put on another guys car which was super loud, and thats what he told me he put on it, but after he heard them on my car he suddenly remembered that it wasn't what he put on that other car, but by this point they were all installed on the car, and used so I guess they will stay on it for a year or two. Nice yellow truck, did that have a 390 or a 460?.
