Mornin',

In preparation of my bin bustin' 10 bpa, 15 lb test weight oat crop, I decided to clean out this old bin.

This little job always makes me sweat like a race horse and gag like an old hound dog eatin' a toad. :>(

But, we got 'er done.

Allan

Now that is just too clean! I can see an actual concrete color in the bottom of that thing. Sorry I couldn't make it down that way to help out. I always like to help distribute a pack of firecrackers when someone is cleaning out a bin. It wouldn't be so funny but it's been done to me a few times. And as they say, "What goes around, comes around".

Looks good Allan!

Billy

I hope you don't throw those into the bin! Grain dust is like gasoline... CAN explode! Otherwise that would be rather hilarious.

Those were the good old days. I started out getting a penney a minute, boy, that was a long time ago. I thought ringing ears were normal, you mean I could have prevented this from happening. Stan

Now Allan, it's just not right for you to have so much fun without us. How are you ever gonna share with all of us? :)

Really though, that bin clearing job is not the most desired on the farm, but isn't the least desired, either. Be careful an drink lots of Gatorade. Have fun enjoying that fancy new air conditioning, and don't let it rain in the cab too hard. :)

Think the grain might go the beginning of next week.

If I can find it in all the weeds, that is. :>)

Is the loading auger ready? Maybe I've missed that part. Those darn B&S auger motors always gave us trouble till we went electric. :) Hope you're not going to scoop them in there?

Yeah I was thinking about that way too. Seems like we did it that way a few times to fill the barrels and feed bin in chicken house and had a long piece of old tin bent in a U shape with a hoop of baling wire on one end to hook on the combine auger.

Boy, you're bringing back memories. I've swept a few of those in sw nebraska and then we sprayed the floor/sidewall seam with diesel fuel for an "insecticide". Thanks for the pics

I used to sweep those things out up in wheat country. Like you said, sweat, sneeze and snot are not in short supply when participating in that little activity.

Boy that takes me back Allan. Never had to clean them out, but hauled a million of those little Co-op bins out of Omaha Nebraska from 1970-1974 when I drove the route semi for double circle co-op. Hardest things if the world to haul and handle. half round, sharp, and heavy. Yours looks ready for the horsey feed crop. Harley
