Well...been back from vacation now for 4 days. Can't cut the grass or do anything outside...front yards about to float away.
Been raining now for about 5 days I am told.
Anyone have plans for an ark?

I totally understand Dan. We about dried up this Spring. We had nearly 10 inches one day and 7 the next.
Been helping neighbors get their belongings to higher ground with the tractor and trailer.
Supposed to be really hot this weekend...

Shoe fits on both sets of feet, tho. I live on a very mucky, low farm, soil holds moisture forever. We have miles of tile on a couple 100 acres, and still all wet spots.

It is very, very frustrating to be mudding in a crop, struggling to get some weeds dead in the mud, while others are yammering about wishing for a couple inches of rain.

I appreciate that many of you are in a dry spell. Yea that's tough. But I work 2x as hard trying to get an equal crop in the mud as you do in the dry.....

Forutantely, I am too this year. Finally a chance at a good crop. The sand hill is burning off, but the rest of the crop is looking good for a change. We've only had 1.5 inches of rain in the past 7 weeks or so. Corn is looking _good_ for a change.

So Bill, your message suits me _just_ fine. Certainly time for some equality. :)

Here in Central Wi, we haven"t had a good rain since Memorial Day week-end. Rains all around us, but not here. Crops without irrigation are really bad.

I am 64 1/2 years old and my Dad always told me never complain about too much rain because when it quits you are in trouble.

 Go Fly A Kite ? in reply to Bill46, 07-26-2006 10:15:29
This guy got back from vacation and couldn"t find anything to do so went outside to fly a kite. He was having a terrible time with kite crashing back to the ground out of control because of no tail on it. His wife was inside looking out window and yelled to him you need some tail! He yelled back, Well last night you told me to go fly a kite!

Now little Whinnie Billy 46, just where is all this supposely RAIN falling? The news people aren't saying a thing about it. Are you on drugs? Seriously with all the people NEED'n rain and begging for rain, I'd consider it in BAD taste to even write a post like yours..... ...My 2 cents. DD

I don't think he is whining because he is frustrated by the rain. Flooding ruins things as much as a drought can drive a person crazy. We have some land like Paul on the above posts described. Some low land and even with tile is frustrating if it gets too wet. We have had over 11 inches of rain in mid michigan in less than two weeks. Some areas have not. Some have had even more. My neighbors about ten miles away have had 13 plus inches. People can tell us to move to a different area and if you don't like the rain don't live in a swamp like michigan, but it goes both ways. If you don't like the drought don't live in the dessert. Also I would have to say more important events have been cancelled because of rain ruining it than too many sunny dry days. So I guess we can all complain equally because I also hate droughts but I don't like being flooded either. I guess we will probably die from west nile virus and you guys will die of thirst.
