Unorthodox ??

But, I'll be darned if I'm gonna drain 30 gallons of fuel and pull a silly fuel tank just because 6 little pushrods don't wanna fit.

Set the head on the block cross-wise with no gasket, pushed 'em up thru the bottom of the head, tied 'em off and then pulled the head back around square to the world.

Now, I gotta lift the whole shootin' match up and slide that gasket under there. should be done by Christmas. :>)

There just is no room in there and the gizmo came apart out sideways with a shoehorn and cuss marks.

The prefered method is to have that tank out of the way, use long guide bolts and drop everything straight down on the head.

'Course, I never would listen to reason anyway.

Kinda like puttin' a clutch in a 4X4. I always thought that it was a lot easier to pull the engine than come at 'er from the back end.

That's a mighty nice shop...what with the knotty pine paneling and all. Looks good!

I took some 6" tongue and groove stuff and spent one winter nailin' the stuff up. Always wanted a knotty pine walled, grey floor shop.

What is with the yeller paint under the tank, etc.?

I assume primer?

I had to take all the fuel tank heat shielding out from underneith to get some room, so what you're seeing is the actural bottom of the tank.

That's factory primer.

That was a squeeze! Still had to lift the front left corner of that tank a 1/4" before I could get the thing to slide in under those pushrods on the back cylinder.

But, that bugger is in there! :>)

Okay, now I gotta go dress some rockers, then the fun really starts..... ..... tippin' those goofy rocker stands and bolts into place. That's gonna be another fun ordeal. They don't fit under there either. :>)
