Anybody ever here of one? A coworker said he saw one at a fair in Iowa.

Thanks Irv

Yes, there was a Packard "tractor", but it was a truck back in the teens or early 20's.

Is your friend knowledgeable about tractors and motors? Perhaps he saw a pulling tractor rengined with an old packard aircraft or marine engine. Packard engines are way beyond nice pieces of machinery, they are works of art. Do a web seach for Packard marine diesels and check out the engines they build for marine service in the 1950's.

Not a Packard tractor, but I have seen a Ford 8N with a Packard V-12 in it.

That 8n must have been stretched out about three times the normal length.

That's for sure. Those straight eights started at the front bumper & ended in the front seat.
