Does anybody have any hay for sale at a decent price? Just talked to a hay trader and he wanted $8:50 a bale looked like it had been rained on at least twice and stacked outside. I am talking pure junk I am in north Texas and am willing to drive aways to get it we are feeding every day here will be out by the end of the month. If we dont get some rain soon hay wont be needed as most of our ponds are nearly dried up. Boy aint farming fun. Thanks guys Alan B.

If we bailed crp here in Ky they would put us in the big house and throw away the key. I just had the crp police out checking on my crp land just looking for a way to fine me.We have a lot of that going on here sure would like to know where that money is going.

Why don't you just ship the cows up here! There's still some pasture and going to be lots of corn stalks soon. I can handle two or three hundred head myself.

Price of hay it seems to be directly tied to the price of diesel. I've got right at 500 rolls for sale now, sitting in the barn in Kentucky. Maybe another 500 in the next few weeks. I cant see trucking hay very far with these fuel prices though. If you can figure a way to get it there, at a price you can afford, we can definitely do business. I did sell two semi loads of small squares of 135RFV alfalfa/orchard grass to a broker who was taking it to Oklahoma. I dont know what he was getting for it but he paid $3.00 a bale here, self loaded.

Have you checked on rail prices?

Thanks quys Was hoping for something closer all the quotes I have had on trucking are running around $3.25 a mile I just cant afford to keep feeding them 7 and 8 dollar a bale hay. Looks like auction time is drawing closer every day we dont get rain. Wish i was close enough to get some of the 2 to 2.50 cent grass hay. It may just rain sunday we have a 10 percent chance. lol I may be calling on some you guys if nothing else comes along closer. May have to sell some of my old Iron for hay and boy that hurts.

Thanks Alan B.

We used to get hay in our times of need through our church. Maybe you all could get together and form some sort of co-op to get your hay shipped too you at a discount. We had a few members of our church that drove truck, they donated there time, and we would pay his expenses. I hope you can get those cattle to market, if nothing else. Good luck. JohnG

How much are you wanting? I am in Northwest Tn, and if your willing to come get it I am sure we can make you a really good deal on some. Good grass hay in rolls for $20 and square bales for probably $2-2.50. 50-60 pound bale. Email me at tlmkr38@yahoo.com if inerested. WE have about 40 rolls right now and probably 200-300 bales and the second cutting will be starting within a couple of weeks if not sooner.

It's a long way from TX, but my neighbor has a couple semi-loads of good first-cutting afalfa/timothy that's just waiting for a buyer. These are nice heavy bales, made without rain.

There's a lot of hay in this area.
