So,

I'm out playin' cowboy today putting up prairie hay. Not much there, but I wanna get it off the field so I can plow this patch up now so's I can plant it to wheat in the fall of '07.

Start smelling hot antifreeze. Whoops, the tempreature sender sprung a leak and it's spraying all over that darned hot exhaust manifold.

Did the normal thing: First, I cussed the gasser, then I walked a mile to the yard and got me a good diesel to finish the job.

Ya just can't have enough of these old tractors settin' about, ya know. :>)

Allan I see in some of your pics that you use a rollover plow. Do they use them out there? Looks like it would be a lot of weight for the hitch. Son just came back from a farm sale that had a seven bottom plow that the scrap man was the only one that wanted it. Haven't seen one used here for years.

Yeah, the irrigated guys raise a lot of dry beans out here in rotation with corn.

Since they have to be cut with knives under the surface of the soil, they about have to be planted in a clean field; hence the "plow habit" of mine. :>)

Seeing that beancutter, I used to work for the company in town here that makes them. (PFM) Never have seen them work though.

There used to be a lot of dry beans raised here in NY and they used "pullers" that ran under the soil surface generally mounted under the tractor frame. All dry bean here now are direct combined. I'm surprised to see some are still pulled.

Boy, I'd have to see that one to believe it. Never heard of direct cutting edible beans. How do they keep them from shelling out?

I don't know what the heck is going on. For some reason in the last 10 days, we've got 2 1/2" out there at that place.

Even looks like that alfafa maybe is gonna set on again. :>)
