I am purchasing a property which includes a Farmall H tractor which is a 6 volt 4 cylinder gas engine model with sn# 136220 listing on what I believe to be the trany. How can I identify its year to obtain parts and manuals?

There's a web site devoted to the H at the link below. It'll be a good introduction to this marvelous machine. The Farmall discussion forum on Yesterday's Tractors probably has more goings on about the H than any other single model, and the Tractor Manuals link at the upper left of this page will get you to about all the printed materials you'll need.
Good luck with your H, and welcome aboard.

If you are not familiar with these tractors you may be suprised to learn that they were the most popular tractor ever built and will run as well today as they did 60 years ago. Don"t be worried about its age. This site has all the information you need to buy any parts or other info you need. They are very common so don"t pay over $1000 for it.

Is it true the H was most popular? I thought it was the N series Ford. Also I read once that the JD 4020 was the most total HP sold of any model tractor (HP x number sold) Not trying to start anything, just what I've read. I think the H is a great tractor!
