Took this picture also while veiwing Jon Kinzenbauls' collection.

The combine and the tractor actually run and work.

They are remote controlled.

They are about 1/3 scale.

Is that a case hammer mill in the back corner of the first photo?

I've got one that appears to be complete, but needs some repair. However, the rotor and fan turn pretty smooth.

Gary...the Massey combine, tractor, and John Deere tractor were bought from the Ken Peterman estate in Webster City. Ken was a great restorer and craftsman. It is fitting that Jon bought them as they will be preserved a long time in his collection.

Well Heck!

Fer a minute there, I thought they were real! :>)

Hate to admit that I'm old enough to remember scooping into one of those feed mills like the one on the trailer. Had to "unload" the ground corn with the same darned scoop on the opposite side under the screen too. :>(

Hey Allan & Steve, my uncle would use his BearCat hammermill to tune his Allis United at the same time he was grinding. All he had to do was open the feed gate wide open to really make her bark !!

Now Allan,it wasnt all that bad was it. We were able to put the grinder spout into the bin so didnt have to unload the stuff. This is the way it worked at our place. Throw a scoopful of ear corn into the grinder. Then duck becase it would throw half of it back out and that stuff stung. Also had to wait for the F12 to get back up to speed before the process was repeated.

I remember grinding with one of those also Allan.

Scoop it in the grinder, level the wagon, and then scoop into the feed shed.

And they call those the good old days?????

Not me!

Hi Gary;
Box one up and send it over to me - I'll trade you an English build "nasher" for your collection.
Beautiful models & that JD D - do they run?
A guy here built a 1/3 scale Field Marshall ( single cylinder diesel engine) to make it run he fitted a 1 cyl B&S lawnmower engine under the tinwork; to replicate the real thing's rocking motion, he machined the flywheel out of balance.
Great photos, I'll post some photos soon of scale model steam engines here we saw at a show.
Cheers David

I think it was built by a guy by Dubuque Ia.

And bought by Jon.

There was also a 4020 JD mini but that picture must not have turned out.
