I saw one of your many great pictures (keep them coming) a plow that rotates 4 on the top 4 on the bottom. For the life of me I can't figure out how this is suppose to work. Can ya school me on it?

Sam

Two questions: 1st) How do you post multiple photos and 2) What are you using to draw on your pictures (making arrows and such) Thanks.

Hi Sam,

Basically, The hitch is simply mounted to a tube and the plow is just slid on over that tube.

Then, they spin sideways allowing a two-direction travel.

Hey, if you scroll down really fast, it's almost like one of them fancy moving picture shows! : ) Were those plows more popular in Europe? Seems that I see more of them in pictures from over there.

Come on Allan! What fun is it whipping across a frozen moldboard plowed field in the winter with no dead furrow in the middle? Just how the heck is NAPA supposed to sell front end parts for pick-ups to the high-schooler's, when you use a sensible piece of equipment like that? Come on now! :-)

I've been "following" your plow threads. 'Been involved with Wisconsin farming all my life. I've never seen one of those plows in the flesh. I'd like to try one out. What percentage heavier than a standard high clearance type do you suppose one would be?

We had a 5 bottom roll-over plow mounted on a pumped up IH1256 diesel. It had 1500lbs of front end weight and would still lift the front end off the ground when you pulled out of the furrow.
You'd have to see an aerial view of the wheel brake dance while flipping the plow to really appreciate both tractor and plow rotating around multiple axis' at the same time.
WHEE!! No sleeping in the headlands.
Have fun and stay safe.

Glenn,

I'm on the other side of the fence, I guess.

I can't tell ya, 'cause I've never even laid eyes on one of those "one-way" type plows, just pictures.

Thanks, I guess I just had to much gray matter getting in the way. I like the idea of no dead man but I'll just have to stick with the old massy harris 3 bottom.

have a good day.

you start at one side of field, plow to end, turn plow over and come back to where you started, no dead furrows in firld. next plowing start at other side of field.
