Allan: That seal between tractor hood and cab are a sign of something greater, that being the rubber mounts the cab sits on. When they get worn it lets the cab rock. I have seen these with holes worn through hood by the cab. Those rubbers being bad can also cause a lot of vibration. these cabs and the ones before them were really the pioneers of tractor cabs. That ROPS cab like you have was actually quite quiet when new and would stay that way with a bit of maintainence each year. For seeing what your doing I actually liked the non ROPS before that one, but it could not keep out vibration as well as the ROPS cab. I had one of those on my 656. Don't listen to those guys who say remove the cab. They apparently haven't sat out on an open tractor all day with the temperature hovering around 35F and a cold wind blowing. Like me your getting too old for that. In 1975 when I bought my 1066, my dad (then 64) another guy (61) plowed 250 acres and only let me do 5 of it. I was busy building a barn when they got started. I had left the tractor and plow where they couldn't resist. Once they got started, they told me they had plowed on cold open tractors for 40 years, this was their last kick at the can to plow in Oct. in shirt sleeves. The next year I put duals on 1066, after that I pulled the plow with 656, it had a cab but the old guys liked the big horse power. Kind of like I am 30 years later, if it hasn't got 350hp and 8 tires, I don't get excited.
