Hi Gang; This is the mid-1950's DB 900 introduced to compete with the Fordson Major which at the time was the highest selling "big" tractor. 4 cyl diesel engine (vapourising oil also available) giving some 40 HP. 3F & 1 R with hi & lo gearbox. Available as standard or live PTO. Quite a short production run model, and quite rare today. The plate on the front is the road registration number, this one is local from Pembrokeshire. The batteries are stored in the boxes on top of the rear axle next to the seat. DB tractors always had unusual features, throttle lever on left of steering wheel, & a push-in to stop engine rather than pull-out to stop engine like everyone else. The previous DB models were all red, the 900 only red with blue wheels, then red with yellow wheels until the Case take-over when they became white & black. DB red was called "hunting pink". DB Tractors were built by the same company who were one of the best gear manufacturers in the World, and they also owned Aston Martin cars. Cheers David
