third party image

Just had to take this Pic. This Picture was taken this afternoon when my son Shane was looking under my truck for any loose axle bearings.

He just got under the truck when I told Shane you’re about to have company.
This kitten started sniffing his coat, which was soft fuzzy material, and within a minute he lay down beside him and curled up in a little ball and went to sleep.

I told Shane I had to take a picture of this so I did. Other part of the story earlier this week my mom going on 82 now was going for her walk down the county road where she lives on and seen this kitten along the side of the road eating grasshoppers or crickets to stay alive.
It was skin & bone; ma figured someone dumped it off. Anyways she finished her mile walk as this homeless kitten followed her back home. She"s been feeding it everyday slow going but gaining some of its weight back. Thanks for looking.

Mike

We aquired cat #5 not too long ago. I was up at the neighbors helping him work on his welder, little grey and peach stray is hanging around. All it wanted to do was be on your lap. It was very starved and could not even walk right. Someone had dropped it off. It rode home with me on my 4 wheeler. We nursed it back to health and she's doing fine. We named her Jasmine. She spends the days out and the nights in my garage killing mice. Very sweet cat and a killing machine as well.

Sometimes the stories don't turn out as good. My wife was thrilled to have a cat "show up" and stay in the barn last winter- we needed a mouser out there, and our house cat apparently has it too easy to be very interested in barn work. She put food out, on a shelf where cat could get it and the varmints couldn't, and we would see her from time to time- but probably ferral from birth, as she always ran when she saw us. She then had a couple of kittens, right out in the middle of the barn aisle and in the way, so wife put them in the hay loft so the family could have a little privacy. Mama cat took them out to some blackberries by the creek. One night, the coyotes seemed more vocal than usual, and we haven't seen or heard from mama or kittens since. That's nature, I guess. All in all, I guess I'd still rather live in the country with its setbacks than in a condo and be oblivious to everything except the new fall TV lineup.

While in Montana a Orange Cat jumped out of the loft in my pole barn onto my sholders. It was dark, I was looking for an object I knew was there, and when I bent over the cat jumped. It scared me into a modest orbit around the moon. It just stuck there not clawing me at all. How could I resist. My boy named him Strawbones. Straw color, and skinny when self adopted. JimN

Cats are great. I had to put my cat down a year ago. I had a female tabby that was very snuggly, she slept with me almost every night.

Who needs a dog, when you have a faithful cat. Tell your Mom thanks for taking the cat in. We have 4 cats, and 2 dogs. Stan

I obtained an orange cat the same way 15 years ago. He has been great and shows his appreciation every day for his home here with us.

Sad what some people will do to animals. Glad you are taking such good care of the little critter. We have two cats in the house we aquired the same way, and gave one to my elederly grandmother who lives alone. They are all three treated equal to or better than children. Totally spoiled!

It's a good thing you weren't in your undershorts, we can see your reflection in that superclean bumper! Nice truck and cool picture.

LOL...

It is a cute pic & heartwarming story!

Now as to Hoosier's undershorts comment...

A lot of the time if I'm just putzing around the house I just throw on a pair of gym shorts, especially on warm days...

Thankfully I live well off the road in private spot, 'cause the other day I'm doing odds & ends by the driveway when I suddenly realize I'm only in my boxers...

Nice pic, we have three that own our house, much to the dismay of our rat terrier...

About them boxers, Matt, that's the beauty of country life! Wife and I both frequently sit outside in our shorts enjoying the weather. City folks just don't understand...
