I've seen them bring 20 or 30 bucks on sales,
no one uses them anymore, and the newer ones run off the pto.I know of a nice dearborn with the
tractor pully and an old belt i can get for free.

Problem with a buzz saw (and I remember fondly) is it takes two or three guys to use one effeciently. I actually remember the wood to be cut up coming from the woods to the house with a sleigh and a team of horses. Ah, for the good old days. With wood you got warm twice.

I have 2 of them also. We had one on the farm that we used for cutting fire wood and sharpening fence posts. Usually took us about 2 days to put up 20 full cords of wood for the winter. There isn't much use these days for a buzzsaw, chainsaws are cheap and easy. The 2 I have I will likely sell the blades from and scrap the rest when I get the time.

Afraid they are really not worth much. Blade is likley worth the most to an artist who will paint a scene on it. That said, you may get lucky and find someone who wants it to use. I have three of them, but only use one. It is mounted on a B John Deere and I use it to cut slab wood from local sawmill and use it for kindling in my wood stoves in the winter.

I used to watch my dad and grandpa use one about 50 years ago before they had a chainsaw, and it worked the dickens out of them. Today when I see one at an auction it just gives me the shudders looking at it. Can you imagine hooking that thing up with those Fankensteine teeth on that 80 to 100 year old blade and socking a tree limb in it. Ughhhhh hh if that thing ever split, you'd die of old age before it ever quit rolling. And going through stuff.

Hey! One of my best buddies moved up to Bagley. Do you know a "Terry Bennett" up there. I"ve been there once, as I have a cousin who teaches in Foston.

I have 2 of them and I have less then $50 in them both. I got them at auctions and I think I payed $7 for one of them and around $25 for the other one. So in my area they sell cheap

Old, how do you use them? It looks like they're for cross cutting but they don't look to be that practical.

Well so far I haven't taken the time to set either one of them up. But yes they are made to cross cut and the chain saw took there place and thats why you don't see a lot of them used now days. Plus the chain saw is safer to use and you don't have to lift the wood/log up on a table to be able to cut it down for firewood. The buzz saw was what they used a long time ago to cut fire wood
