HOW GOES THE HARVEST.We finally got done with beans at dads and had about 50 acres of corn left.I farm with aguy down here in KCMO and we got 300 acres of beans left.Neighbors across the road at dads have two 9760 and 30ft heads and can get over 100 acres per combine per day, makes our 40-50 look like play.Steve

Well last evening after finishing the ear corn I had 2to 3 acres to combine that wouldn't fit in ear corn wagons.First hopper full and something broke in the unloading auger.
It made me so mad I put the combine in the shed till Monday.
I got to dump the corn out the trap door to get it empty and it was dark.

1 hopper full to finish.

Yeah I got neighbors like that too.

They pull in with 2 combines and 4 semis and do as much in 3 days as I do all fall.

One day while planting 4 acres with my MF-135 and an old cyclo 400 6 row narrow, I got jealous of the BTO planting 80 in less time than I took for the 4. But after a while the jealousy went away, I decided I probably had less invested in the tractor and planter than he owed monthly interest per row unit and that made me feel much better. With no loan to pay off, I have a much better chance of breaking even... Any profit is far better than loosing and making it up in volumenous acres.
