I worked for a neighbor in the early 70's that had a green 4620 and nearly froze to death when using it to haul stalks for bedding. If the diesel isn't working it isn't making any heat. This unit was brand new.

You know Allen, that outside frame loader may be handy and all but it just doesn't look right on that new of a tractor, especially with a cab. Should be on a Farmall M or such from it's era. I got one spotted that didn't sell at an auction, just haven't figured out how to get it home without my wife noticing.

Yeah,

They work fine on an M if you don't mind running the clutch-to-neutral all the time because of the M not having a live PTO.

Before you haul it home, be darned sure you can find the mounting framework for the tractor you decide to put it on.

Allen I know a place down here that has cabs laying all over the place. Last I looked he had 10-20 of them laying around. Not sure what all they fit but hes got a bunch of them

Yeah,

I gotta fess up, I guess. Pretty darned live-able. :>)

'Course as usual, I got caught with my pants down. Darned insulation and the heater are still laying in the cab of the pickup. I'd better be fer getting that stuff put on. :>(

Just being out of the wind helps. Mount your heater low if you can. I had to put mine on the ceiling. It works but you need the tractor revved up more. Also lower will keep your feet warmer and the heat will rise. A little fan to circulate the air and for defrosting the windshield makes a big difference. It looks good. You do get spoiled with a cab. They are nice. Dave

I bought one as close to the original as I could find. Mounts on the lower portion of the right door area standing up against the wall.

The spacing on this one isn't quite right for the heater hose holes in the floor, but I'll make it work. I like it 'cause it is thin and has two heater cores with 2 speeds on the fan @ 20K BTU. :>)

That's a nice looking heater. Similar to mine but a little bigger. You can buy plastic fittings for heater hose, 90's, tees, ect.. 20,000 btu's will cook you out of the cab. Make sure to protect the hoses any wear they could rub. It's also a good idea to put an inline shut off valve on the hose that first lets coolant get to the heater. It is mostly so you don't really cook in the summer but is nice if you have to fix a leak or something and have to take it out. You might not need your insulated coveralls this winter. You could probably make a good $$$ selling them to some poor soul on here that doesn't have a nice cab to go in. Dave
