Sherry, I would think anyone involved in tractor-pulls (such as yourself), would know the answers to the questions you are asking. :>)

Hmmmm? Both motors so we are guessing it's a JD R diesel with big diesel engine that is started by the little gasoline pony engine? Or is it a little Minneapolis Moline R model or a Case R model? See link for JD R diesel info.

Bama Gal (if you are a gal, and if you are from 'Bama, and if you do have a tractor for sale), I strongly suggest you do a 'lil homework on your tractor's condition and value before you try to sell it...unless you're hoping for an honest buyer to come along, whic is probably as unusual in 'Bama as it is here...(but, personally, the whole thing has the aura of someone pulling my leg a bit...no, a lot...

Oh man! I'm tellin' ya. An R john deere has a small gas engine to start the diesel engine. I'd say if you don't know if it runs, it probably don't. But no, it don't have no 3 point hitch. Even I knows that.

Your old JD "R" does not have a 3 point hitch. Non of the tractors like that did. It was built to pull heavy (for it's time) drawbar loads. It probably DOES have remote hydraulics, ie the ability to operate a remote cylinder,

Anyone who thinks his tractor needs a 3 point isn't looking for a JD R, but sounds like he might be looking to "sharp" someone out of her tractor for less money than it's worth.
