I just mothballed my tractor for the winter. Found ALL of the front wheel lug nuts loose.

Mike, STOP!!!

Check all the lug bolts and cinch bolts on your axle/wheels.

Had a neighbor get killed when they came loose and the wheel came off throwing him from the tractor.

Good possibility of a bad tooth on the bull and pinion gear. Jack up one rear wheel at a time and give it a spin. The side that clunks will be the side with the bad bull and pinion gear. If you continue to drive, it won't get any better. If the bad teeth bind, it could do a lot more serious damage.

Yes, check the simple things first. I may have jumped the gun talking about the bull pinion. When you said "clunk" I clearly heard the same "clunk" I had in my 580CK when a tooth broke on the bull pinion.

Broken teeth on crown gear and play on the bearings on the brake end of things.
