Tom: You might try Marshall Tractor Parts in Cynthiana, KY. they seem to carry a lot of parts for Super A models. I have a '53 Super A with original owner's manual. Although my tractor has a Zenith carb, the manual also shows Carter and Marvel-Schebler carburetors as standard equipment for the Super A in 1953. Also, my factory Super A parts book shows a Carter rebuild kit from your Case/IH dealer, part #354-918-R92. In prior discussions on this forum, the topic of "best carb for a Super A" has come up. It seems, in the opinion of most, the Zenith and Marvel-Schebler are almost neck and neck for best, and the Carter is a distant 3rd. Assuming that is correct, you may wish to take this opportunity to find a used Zenith or M-S on ebay and get a rebuild kit for it instead of sinking more money into the Carter. The only "trick" I have encountered with the Super A Zenith is, when you set the float level, be generous; i.e., if it says set it at 1 5/32", then set it at 1 8/32" or even 1 9/32". Otherwise, you may have problems with richness and flooding as the tractor rocks and bounces across the ground. I also have another '53 Super A equipped with a Marvel-Schebler carb. It has given no problems whatsoever. I am happy with both brands. Have never owned a Carter, but have heard some of the guys have been less than thrilled with them. mike
