Are these rates all per year or per month?

Here in s. central IL up to $245 for the good black soil. I'm in the very light ground $100 +. No irrigation here. Most farmers dispise it. It's making large corporate farms but it is the trend and the reallity.

Yea-right. The county home here in our county in Ohio is bid out to farmers 133 per acre. If you want to grow tomatoes add a hundred to it.

Here in Western NY good "gravel" ground goes for $65-100 an acre I rent 40 acres of well drained productive gravel ground I rotate corn to clover and back for $80/acre. Any other ground that is not "gravel" goes for $25 to $0. Most land owner are pretty happy if you pay the taxes(ag rate).

The soil varies a lot in my area so the rate does to.

The prime soil is up to $200 and the poorer soil is around $100.

Blue grass pasture is around $40.

Gary in eastern Iowa.

Here in Norh Central, Oklahoma, all dryland here. Good farm ground is about $40/acre and just decent is around $30. native pasture is around $12 and our stocking rate is around 1 cow/calf pair per 8 acres. Bermuda is $15-20. As a young farmer, this is about maximum that I can pay to make any money at all. I detest those old land owners who think that thier land is worth so much more than everyone else. I tend to take better care of the land that I rent cheaper. I mow waterways, cut trees, build fence, and strive to better the land. On the expensive stuff, I can't afford to do much extra and make that farm pay.

In southern Mn. I heard of guys who have the big hog set-ups, that they pay over $200 per acre to be able to have enough land to get rid of the manure. For the most part it runs $130 to $200----some cheaper, some a bit higher. Those prices might jump next spring with the high grain prices this fall.

I'm paying 15 per acre for some pasture land. 40 acres of wheat is rent free. They (rich deer hunters)want something green growing in the fall and had rather someone else be responsible for planting it. I just got 70 acres of tift 44 bermuda for a 3 year lease for $20 and they rented the hunting rights for another $15. Half of this land belongs to a city 20 miles away and ex landowner has farming rights for his and his son's life free, city bought it to replace wetlands for municipal reservoir.
