Hey Everyone, I have a question. Most of the parts on my MF65 gasser G176 Continental are marked G176, however, some are marked G157. Was this a model of Continental? What was it used in? I am assuming the 176 was a bored out reendition of something else as the rods are marked G157. Just curious....

Time to get back to smearing assembly lube...

Aaron

Thanks, I was wondering if that was the case... Made sense, but I have not followed this topic past my immediate need.

Now I am trying to figure out a piston dome's volume. I have the flat tops that came out, but now I am trying to figure a nonintrusive way to compare the two...

I have read that the Continental GD-157 was used in the Case 300 diesel and International 350 diesel. I don't know if there was a gas version of the 157 or not. I am not aware of Massey ever using a 157.

Yes it was. Continental made various size of engine "families". These included the Z models in the small Fergusons, The E model, the H model and the J models as used by M-H plus engines they sold that were not used in farm equipment and even 6 cylinders engines such as the R model. I have alisting of the bore and stroke of all of the G models but maynot wh all used them. More questions? J.
