"We currently have no rules regarding this type of thing. I'll leave it up to your own discretion and ask that you also consider the opinion of others within the YT community."

Might want consider she has changed her mind (From "up to you" to "ask you to stop"). Why she changed her mind only she knows. I suspect she was just trying to keep from setting a precedent she doesn't want to morph into a problem later (linked photo advertising maybe). Why she choose to handle it the way she did, only she knows. But I am guessin it is because the last time she dealt with a member privately it turned into a big he said, she said. But I don't know.

Bottom line is it is her site, her call, and her wrath. Ask the last guy who pushed the limits. You can find them on _____ site still giving away copy righted material for free.....

I guess I just don't get it. Maybe I didn't read the requirements for posting on this site, but I can't tell Cowmans logo slows anything down. I'm on dial up and connected at anywhere from 21 to 36 kbs and his posting load fine. Its those multi pictures that slows mine down. If I get tired of waiting I read the posts and skip the pictures. Seems like I and most everyone else likes cowmans posts. If you don't, skip them. I don't read every post on this site and I'm sure other don't read mine . Who Cares???

By the way, good pic Cowman.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! There is no safety rail on that slide! The child could fall of the side and break his/her arm!

Why on earth would you endorse such risky behavior for our children?!?!?!???

Chicken pox, ear infection, toncelitis all at the same time didn't get me at age 6, polo didn't get me at age 11. Tractor in 1st gear and walking the wagon tongue while kicking off bales of hay from age 12 to 21 plus didn't get me. Being a stupid teenager in the 1950's didn't get me. Electrial outlets and slides didn't have a chance. LOL

But the mere idea of showing the possibility of a slide without safety feature could be the downfall of society as we know it!

I guess live and learn doesn't apply anymore - we switched it over to overprotect and populate with people lacking any real life experience.

Cowman, we love you dearly but why? For a time or two its is fun, then it becomes tiresome. If you use a picture then maybe I should, something like an animated cow jumping over a tractor. And then every body does it. I feel that a lot of other feel the same but do not want to hurt your feeling. Why not wait until the new forum software comes out that will permit such things. There! I've gone and done it, now I will be known as a bad guy when all I want to do is be honest about it.

Here is something I got a few years ago. Might have found it on this site. I sure Kim was more worried about the link. After all the siggy has been on here for how long, but as far as safety..... .....

If your over 30 you should be dead!!

People over 30 should be dead. Here's why.

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn'thave survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.)

As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors!

We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times , we learned to solve the problem.

We would leave home in the morning and play all day , as long as we were back when the street lights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!! Unthinkable!

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound,
personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms .

We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt.

We fell out of trees , got cut and broke bones and teeth , and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us.
Remember accidents?

We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms , and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did
the worms live inside us forever.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors!

Tests were not adjusted for any reason. Our actions were our own.
Consequences were expected. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them!

Congratulations!

Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own good !!!!!

What are you talking about? Cowmans pics don't slow my dialup down any. Expecially after they load the fist time and it is stored in cache. I use dialup at home and a higher speed at work that any of you will ever see (I work at an ISP 100M LAH hooked to a OC3) and I just don't see much differance with this site.

Are you hooked to an OC3 or faster or 100M lan or faster?

Googled this
OC-3:. A network line which transmits 155.52 Mbps. This is the size of the largest Internet backbone providers networks

Whyever would you have a high speed connection on an Oliver crawler? Or even a pokey dialup, for that matter? I have an OC4, and even with its lower groundspeed than an OC3, it keeps my hands busy enough that it never even occurred to me to install an internet connection.

Jim, I'm on dialup with a speed of only 28800. Nebraska siggy does load any slower than post with just fonts. I can't understand why everyone keeps whining about how it slows down the loading time. The only thing that slow my system down is the really large pictures, when some one is learning to post pictures. Not a problem, cause we all have to learn...

I always keep a good supply of cheese and crackers for the whine!!..:>)
