I switched to a new gas company and the gentelmen that was installing their new propane tank found this flare nut cracked when doing his inspection. He said this nut has been leaking gas for long time as the crack has a black discoloration around it.
Maybe my fuel consumption will go down? Time will tell. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to check them now and then
You think I should give Ferrell this nut back?
Is part of their Equipment?
Just my 2-cent. Take Care Mike

I"ve also had that trouble on my fuel oil lines. I think water gets in and freezes and cracks them.

Mike and everyone else

I work for small Mom and Pop propane company and the smartest thing you can do is have a leak check done. It's the check where they put a gauge on the line bleed it down to 10 psi and leave it set for 4 minutes. If you have a leak, pressure will slowly go down. Next open your hood once in a while in the summer and if you have a lot of flies under the hood you have a leak. Common areas for a leak that the leak check wont find is on the tank gauge next to the four screws and shut off valve, once in a while the tank it's self will leak and then they get to replace it.

Good luck Merle

I wouldn't worry too much about Ferrell gas.
The way they've been doing business, they won't be around much longer. They lost my business and my respect 'bout 5 yrs. ago.

Is Ferrell no good? They just bought my local supplier whom I never had a problem with. Should I start looking at one of the other guys?

If you want to see some opinions of Ferrel, just do a search on this site.

I don't even HAVE propane, but just from surfing this site I've learned that they are an awful company to deal with.

Brad,
I can relate to what your saying, you are probably right at the rate there going that will be history. I know I made a savings of .50 cent on a gallon savings switching. Not to mention the other hassle with them!
