I saw a low hour used Agco tractor, small size on a dealership internet site (low hours) Are the Agco tractors reliable? I have never driven or used an Agco tractor I know they have the Iseki diesel engine. How are the manual/hydro transmissions. Where is the tractor assembled? If you know of anybody that has owned one or used one then chime in here thanks.

If it has an Iseki engine, it is a compact tractor. The same tractor is badged as AGCO, Massey Ferguson and Challenger. They are tough compact tractors with very few problems. Iseki is Japanese, they have nothing to do with China or India.

Iseki has been making the MF compacts for years and probably any AGCO owned brand. They're probably the same. Really nice cabs but not as good of a 3 pt. as an MF. Dave

Are you sure its an iseki engine in there? If it is I would buy it. That is the engine in the older white compacts. They are indestructable. we have one on our loader tractor and it is abused by everyone!! Only had to put a clutch in it. Not exactly sure on hours but sure its over 5K!

Looking at the TRACTOR BYNET website looks like Massey and Agco make similiar tractors in the compact size. I have never seen an AGCO dealer in southwest Louisiana or southeast Texas.

That motor would scare me, neighbor has one for his planter and grain cart, it has a perkins, decent motor inside is like a cadillac.

I have a 5670 4wd with loader 3300 hours. It has been a very good tractor, tough as nails and it has been made to do things that most people wouldn't attempt to do with a 63 hp tractor like pulling 25 ton loads of soybeans out of the field pawing at 2 mph. We put a clutch in it and three or four repairs on the starter (iskra) but thats all the repairs it has needed. By the way, the 4600, 5600, 6600, 7600, and 8600 series agco tractors were 100% Same with air cooled engines. And before you jump all over Agco for using things like iskra starters, you will also find those starters all over Deere equipment of many descriptions.

Most of the parts on the small utility tractors have Jap parts on them. I was concerned that the tractor may be made in China or India.

And Massey Furg. and White too I think. I think that they bought up the remains of the almost out of business tractor mfgs. On the Agco website it says they are a $5.3 billion comp.

my girl friend's dad just got a little cat tractor, it has agco stamped on it. Only has 10 hours on it but it is nice to drive around the yard.

Hope I can tell you more about it in a few years.

Dave

I used an AGCO/White 2005 model quite a bit this summer at a freinds. I really like it. Was like driving a lexus when your used to a 71 ford with a 3 speed and power nothing. Great tractor. Awesome power shift and control

AGCO what? because they own over two thirds of the world tractor market excluding JD and CNH and I'm not sure about them either today.Go to their website.
