Just got a 1949 Studebaker pickup trailer (pickup bed had been converted to a trailer).Going to make a fuel trailer out of it.
Trying to get the wheels off and one side I have twisted the bolts into trying to get the lug nuts off. So I took off the 8 bolts to try to take the hub off. But not sure what else I need to do the get the hub off so I can replaces the bolts for the lug nuts. I am sure I am missing something simple, but can not figure it out. The wheels are free they turn easy.
Any help greatly appreciated.

The hub is probably on a tapered axel. You need to pound the axle to get the hub to pop off. there was a thread protector to protect the threads. It helps if you jack up the opposite wheel before hitting the axle. Since your wheel is off you can set the drum on a block. As others have said there are r&l threads. Stan

What shape is the tailgate in?? I need a straight one! It does have L-hand threads on the one side. The hubs are pressed onto the axle on a 1/2 ton I know.
