I know safety is involved, but I can remember when the ROPS came out and all the Deere dealers ordered one or two on tractors and a year later most of them still had them on the lot. Around here I can probably find a 100 tractors before you see one tractor with a ROPS. Now explain why they are such a hot item in some parts of the country. Happy new year!. J.

Don't neglect Deere and company. They have been on a safety crusade selling their ROPS at a lower price (by at least $1000) than after market makers and lower than I've seen the opening price asked on epay.

I don't know today, when I was looking one year Deere was $375, the next year $475 and that's what I paid. That's been at least 8 years ago. Other makers and after market were at least a thousand higher.

I had to run a tap through the threaded bolt holes to clean out weld flash that Deere hadn't bothered to do.

I went to that site you have the link for.

Is there any way to get prices?

Or do you know about how much they cost?

Still looking at buying one for that 1066 of mine.

Thanks Gary

I bought a rops from Bare last year for my Ford 860. Seems it was around $800 with freight cost. They were pretty good at giving a quote when you call or submit a request (fax) for a quote. They did miscalculate the freight though. Seems they thought UPS would ship the package but it was too heavy so it had to go freight. We had to reach agreement on the adjusted freight cost before they shipped. The unit went on the tractor OK and seems substantial. Even though I never plan on having to use it, just feels better knowing I have a bit of a safety margin as long as I use the seat belts I added along with the ROPS..

In the past, I've successfully used search engines such as google to find reports and vendors and then prices for ROPS. Since I have a ROPS for my 4020 and don't like the prices for one for my MF-135, I'm no longer in the market for one.

The first generator or two of cabs weren't roll over protection and didn't do much for improving the operator's environment.
