Well since I have bought this 158 Loader, I am looking around at tracto options. Will a 158 Loader fit on a John Deere 5020?
I am asking because 5020 are so cost effective comparded to the 4020. You can get a 5020 Diesel for the same price as a 4020 gas and sometimes cheaper!!
I know my first Tractor was a 5020 and it had a small Farm Hand Loader on it. This loader was not much of anything.

Raleigh, I Do like the way your are Thinking! But you need a "Small Frame" tractor for that 158 loader. Simply shift you attention to the other JD tractor that most folks simply dismiss all too quickly...ie,,,4320, 4520, 4620!!! I really like the 4520/4620s simply because they have right size the hp, Can be found with Power Shifts still. Both already have the heavier front axles like the 30 series have.
The only drawback I can see is the PTO is usually 1000 only!
Anyway...That is a direction to look at! OR simply if the standard tranny isn't a consideration on the 5020, find a good one, sell the 158 and locate one that will fit that big girl! Hope this helps!
Later,
John A.

Raleigh, I got to thinking later and I must have surenough gone drain dead. Your 158 will bolt straight up on a JD 4230 also. It is basicaly a 4020 in 30 series skin! find you one with a Power-shift and you will be in tractor heaven. Though there were no gassers made though, But the PTO is 540/1000 changeable, only remove the lock ring and pull out one and insert the other, then replace the lock ring.
There are a few 4wd conversions out there though most of the older ones are hydrolic run, not M4WD. Good Luck, Hope this helps.

John A.
