I need to replace my front tractor tires on a 4 wheel assist loader tractor. What do you guys find to work the best. I need standard R1 ag tread, but am unsure of bias ply or radial, brand, etc.

Any input?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

I was just wondering if Continential was a thrid world company or if another company owned it. Continential Farmer AS tires aren't that bad although they could be slightly better

What do you do to make front ag tires last 20 years?

You also need to use the tractor a minimal amount of time.

Thanks for the advice - I appreciate it - I've never had to buy tires before, but I like this one enough to keep it a long time.

Thanks,

Bill

If this is used primarily as a loader tractor, go with bias, if its a field tractor that sees some loader work go with radial. After that its hard to tell. Some people stand by Goodyear, but I've seen to many corn stalks punch holes through their side walls to recommend their shoddy product. After that its limited to Titan and Firestone or some third world import product.

Did you know Firestone and some others nolonger warranty tires for corn stalks.

With this new BT corn the stalks are so hard and tuff they will not warranty for stalks.

That's probably the case, but Goodyear seems to be the one that is more plagued with ruined tires in my area.

Another thing I heard but don't know if it is true.

If tires set for awhile say a year or two, when they are new, they will harden,

And harder tires will wear and resist punctures better.

But today no one wants inventory setting around so they make the tires one day and a week later they are on a tractor.

Goodyear don't make Ag. tires anymore. A couple years ago, they sold the ag. biz. to Titan

I think if it were me I would go with bias tires on the front of a loader tractor.

The radials will squirm around more with the extra weight and if you do much road travel,I don't think I would like that.

But I am a firm beleiver in radial tires.

Hey Bill,

Sure don't know anything about your situation or your tractor.

But, over the years, I've found that when replacing tires, get the absolute thickest and best tire you can find. That way, they'll still be working 20-30 years from now.
