I just got my hands on a delco 10si 3wire alt. I'm gonna put it in my massey but I can't find the right size pulley. I have a fairly wide belt on the massey and no one can point me in the right direction for a pulley. The alternator shaft has an odd size diameter and i can't find any pulley that will fit.

Since you have a GOOD "3-wire" unit, it doesn't have to spin as fast to "excite" as a (GOOFY) "one-wire" alternator.

Therefore, (if you have it) you can use the pulley from the old generator. Delco (and certain other) generator pulleys fit perfectly on Delco alternators.

The pulleys from the generators are keyed, the alternator shafts are not, but the generator pulleys work just fine on the alternators.

Try Alternatorparts.com(http://www.alternatorparts.com/Alternator_brackets_2.htm)
They also have a number of mounting bracket kits and other useful alternator info.

The Browning fixed-bore cast iron pulleys in the AK series can be bored and faced to fit the Delco. The bore needs to be 17MM. This series is available for 3/8 and 1/2 belt width. Grainger sells these pulleys. Done properly, this is the finest setup possible.

I just did this saturday on my neighbors 9n ford. The pulley you have is fine. You just have to saw it right down the middle with a hacksaw, put about a 1/4 inch spacer between the two halves and put the nut back on the shaft with some locktite. Instant wide belt pulley. Have done this for years on many a tractor. Works great. Good luck.

Many times the generator pulley will fit right on the alternator, same bearing, same shaft size.
Also most any "good" auto parts stores that sell rebuilt alternators will also have a good selection of alternator pulleys

I'm going to a local electric supply shop tomorrow, and then the junk yard. If I come up empty handed I'll have to fall back on ebay. You guys think this looks right?

It will werk find if you have a ¾” wide belt, if you have a 5/8” belt it will werk till the belt git’s a little worn then the belt will slip, theirs no such thing as a universal pulley use in this application. If you have a 5/8” wide belt you need a pulley made zackly for a 5/8” belt. The pulley for a 5/8” belt izz expensive so that’s why folks go wif the ¾ X 5/8 universal one. I have tried’em on a 5/8 belt and in time the belt will slip and will not keep the battery up. I have a pulley # 98NAA5825 fer a 5/8 belt specially made fer use on a tractor. I am pert neer sure YT has it also, take a wrench and check the wwith of yer belt

Looks even smaller than the one I bought. About the price I paid and it looks like it fits a 10-SI. I don't hold out much for a car salvage yard, but maybe a '66 series IH tractor would have one. Its easiest to change with an impact wrench.

Its not odd, its metric to fit the ball bearing.

I got my wide (and small diameter pulley) from my local auto electric shop. They had to order it and it works fine.

Lots and lots of ag equipment uses Delco alternators. CaseIH, Agco or even a tractor salvage yard would be your best bet.
