Yeah always loved to hunt and find them, In the panhandle ,near Amarillo texas there is a flint quarry ,now a national monument, where indians got much of there flint. Try this site www.nps.gov/alfl. Hope I got it right. Here is another site www.museum.ttu/lll.

Where I've lived from the Ozarks to Northern Minnesota, Anywhere near a river, river bottomland or a lakeshore was good for arrowheads. Short of moldboard plowing, I would look for erosion spots like gullies, etc. My bride always thought I was nuts because I would go out looking when it was raining, giving the artifacts a "sheen", which made them easier to spot. Good luck, Bernsy

i never found an arrow head when i set out to look for one. when i found them , usually, i plugged up the disk and was cleanin it, or broke down in the field, or stopped for a nature call, found about a dozen or so that way.

Hey dej
Where are you in W. PA.? I'm about 30 miles nnw of Pittsburgh in Beaver CO. My granddad and uncle used to find a lot when they would walk behind the horse pulled plow. I've never found any. Some old guys still come out in the spring when I plow and hunt for them. (What am I saying, I'm an old guy now ... but they're even older). Phil
