Please read some posts from 1-2 days ago about exploding batteries. Temps over 77F cause batery life to shorten.

I use a Vector charger to restore batteries. It has a mode for battery restoration. Takes 24 hours. It'll do a good job as long as the battery hasn't gone to far. Got two batteries on a 2155 IH truck that are 12 years old. Brought them up to snuff one at a time. Had one in a pickup that was to far gone.

Every battery I replace now is with a Optima. Bought 4 last year.

If it was me I would just trade it in on a new one. the cost isn't worth all the bother to try and save one that has gone completely flat.
If its not to bad put it in your family truck or car and use it for a few eeks the daily draining and recharging will usely bring it back.
Best thing is to run your equipment on an off during the winter or off season once aweek or so for an hour will keep your batteries up.
Letting a battery just set will will do more harm than any other thing you can do it.

If the battery plates have developed sulphation from being totally discharged or allowed to remain at less than full charge for a long period of time, then use a device like the "Battery-MINDer.
This is a charger/maintainer/desulphator,sold by Northern Tool, which will often restore the battery to near 100% power.

If the battery plates are worn out by age, shedding plate material from vibration or overcharging/deep cycling,or shorted because of damaged seperators/low electrolyte/buildup of shedded material, then nothing can be done to restore the battery.

I use two of the BatteryMINDer devices to maintain all my seasonal use farm equipment batteries in the off season. I try to give them 1 day out of 30 on the BatteryMINDer, to keep them fully charged and free of sulphation.
