It is sad someone had to die without a medical cause. Such a shame it happens all the time in our modern world. All the flowers and cards do not reverse such a sad loss. I will however overall stick up for the VA hospitals, they are extreemly overloaded, and will certianly be that way for some time to come. Funding is not a top priority, and when it is it is ear marked for many off the wall projects. We all know that hospitals have waste and our government involved VA is no exception to the rule. Most VA hospitals are excelent, and with this particular case a serious mistake was made. In all fairness there is no machine to test this complex problem. We have seen, or unseen this in our home towns, with friends & relatives etc. A suicidal person has a very dark cloud shading the sun. Can you imagine how the nurse that told the young lad he was No. 26 feels now? This topic is discused often with many of our older veterans, and many have concluded that the younger folks are at a disadvantage in the combat situation. Many of these young folks have never seen animals die as many of the older gentlemen did such as helping butcher years ago. They also have limited numbers that hunt wild game etc etc. It is perhaps imposible to prepare anyone for combat, and for those that watch the footage on the news where the combat is made for the cameras, it is totaly a sadly unbelivable mess they are confronted with. Another sadness is most folks that support this effort including the politicians have no idea what real combat is. We can only hope and pray for those effected, and perhaps as we go about our daily life we can help others who are suffering. And maybe make a positive effort for another human life that is not as blessed as ours.
