Anyone buy from TireTown?

Hey all.

I found this link while I was looking around at different types of ag tires on the web. Has anyone ever ordered from these guys?

Link

I see that they dont list any brand names, and they say that all the tires are "buffed". Those prices dont seem too awful, but then again I guess I have no idea what I would be getting.

I just wanted to see if anyone has ever bought from them. I saw the tire thread down lower in this forum and realized that I need to figure out what to put on my M in the spring.

Thanks!

~Bug

Well then I guess that Ill need to give these guys a call. However, I suppose that the shipping to upstate NY might offset any of the savings, so I should ask around locally first too I suppose.

I dont mind if they are buffed as long as they will still last me a while. Im going to be tinkering with the M for a while (I live in Virginia, tractor is in NY, its sad...) but it really needs tires before it can be driven too far at all.

So for the next few years I probably wont even get a chance to work it hard, but eventually I would like to. I just dont want to spend 700 dollars for tires now only to have to do it a few years down the road because a casing splits on me when there is 95% of the tread left...

On a side note, the tires on the M now are 15.5x38's. Should I keep this, or maybe narrow it down a size or two? Im pretty sure its the 11" rim that came with the tractor..

Thanks,

~Bug

Bought several rear tractor sets and front combine tires from them unseen freighted in with never any problems. If you are wanting a perfect set of tires for a fancy show tractor then they are not for you. Ask questions on returns, freight, and brands as they might have exactly what you were looking for but not advertised yet. The buffed tires may have complete name or just a few letters buffed off sidewall is all but never had anything else wrong with those. The blemished tires may have just came out of the mold with a rough finish so again just not for everyones show tractor but nothing wrong them at all for a working tractor.

I bought a set of 18-4-42 tires and they arrived with a 4 inch gash in the face of one. I called immediately and they wanted me to pay shipping for the replacement. I was not happy. They finally agreed to pay the shipping but then proceeded to send a tire that was buffed so severly that half the thickness of the side wall was gone . I put the tires on and traded the tractor off to get rid of the tire headache.

Good honest people, they will warranty those tires too. I've bought several tires from them and have had some tires sectioned there to. Jim

"Buffed" tires are usually "seconds", that didn't quite meet the specs of the maker. The manufacturers name has been "buffed" off. Could easily be the only flaw was that the name, tire size, etc., didn't come out looking quite right, or maybe some other slight imperfections. Most likely they are good tires.

I bought some 13.6x 38,s and also some 14.5x38,s, (buffed) from tire towne a couple of years ago. Tires were fine. Name was just buffed off. I have tried to buy from them again but it seems they never have what I,m looking for.

I bought a set of big floation combine tires from them that were new equipment take offs. They were just like new but had the serial numbers buffed off. At about half price I was very satisfied. I bought them at Shawnee Kansas, had to drive about 280 miles, good buy I thought.
