I hate them, I hate them, I have no feel of touch and if im not losing one im losing the other. But recently with these single digit temps. I had no choice, my knuckles started to crack and bleed. So a friend gave me a pair of cheap yellow, cotton, flannel like gloves. They also have a red rubber type substance on the palms. They also said RED HORSE GLOVE INC. Not bad!, a guy could get used to those kind. I asked where he got them, he doesnt know where he got them from or if they still make them. Do any of you guys know of this kind, or what do you use? Thanks DTURKE

Guys, I use leather gloves w/ the diaginal leather strip across the palm. Size SMALL or the tighest possible, I can't stand those loose, gobbie P.O.S. gloves. They will get you hurt, or caught on something, and really get you in a bind.
I wear gloves for probably at least 1 to 2 hrs on a low work day to 12 to 15 hrs on a really busy day.
If I can't get the gloves like the ones mentioned above, I use just plain ol Goat skin gloves, small, very tight. Sometimes to the point where I have to wet them with water, then wear dry.
I know this type of glove isn't everyones cup of tea, But tey work well for Me!
Later,
John A.

I was SCUBA diving with 1/4" neoprene gloves. I was down about 35" and all I could get out of my mouth piece was water. The regulator seperated from the mouth piece and floated behind me. I reach around for it but could not feel a thing. I went for my back-up regulator and had the same problem. I tried one more time and was miliseconds from bolting to the surface. This can kill you. My dive buddy saved my life. He got me fixed up and saved me again because he grabed my ankle and slowed my panic assent to the surface. Gloves almost killed me.

I have good luck with just a pair of leather gloves big enough to wear a pair of jersey gloves inside them, a little snug at first but they loosen up pretty fast and stay snug and keep pretty warm, last all winter and don't get so bulky.Jim

The leather outer gloves with a wool glove liner, used to be Military issue, a long time ago. Worked great and for a long time you could get them from military surplus stores. I hated to see them disappear. Worked great up in Western Kansas in the winter.

We get those cheap yellow cotton work gloves from Fleet Farm, Jersey brand. Don't get the 12 packs though, they blow out faster than those that come in 3 packs for some reason. Tends to be money better spent buying them in the 3 packs. They ussually got red cuffs, but also come with brown or blue, and then there's a green cotton glove that's a little thicker yet. They lasted me about 1500-2000 bales before they blew out this summer. Still working on my 2nd pair I grabbed for haying now... Just starting to get a little thin.

Most years that's almost all of our 1st crop.... I stack them on the wagon then I help unload too so I guesss my figures could be a little low... I don't pay much attention but I normally blow out atleast 2 pair every haying season.
