Hi, Like to know what horse power this tractor is? Are they good tractors? This seems to have Live pto, power steering, high low range transmission. Is this standard on these tractors? Thanks for any information!!

These are well built, well designed machines. They have two-stage clutches for live PTO which cost more to replace than a regular clutch. They are rated at about 50 HP.The diesels use a perkins engine that MF still use.The gas engine versions have a reputation for excessive thirst. The six-speed high-low transmission was standard with a twelve speed multi power option. You will be dealing with AGCO for parts so be prepared to be shocked.

Thanks, but this one don't seem to have the 2 stage clutch, and has 4 speed transmission with high low range. This is a Gas engine, Continental, They good engines? What a tractor like this be worth? not pretty looking but everything seems to work, good tires. thanks again

Don,

I didn't realize the 8 speeds went back that far.Try putting the PTO into gear.If it grinds going in or won't stop with the clutch fully depressed it has clutch trouble.Find out what it would cost to fix before going any further.I never saw a 65 with transmission driven (not live)PTO,but it is possible.

I wouldn't get too excited about a gasser. You may find yourself wondering how so much fuel could pass through that little pipe.Unless you are mainly planning to use it for snow removal, then the gas engine might be a good choice.

I have one with a 3 pt. hitch and I'm thinking about a backhoe attachment for digging sewer, water and electric line trenches and tree planting holes. Lots of gravel and big rock. Are all 3 pt hitches standard or do I need to get my specs before shopping? Any recomendations? Thanks.
