Has anyone ever had this same problem with a power stoke? I have a 2000 f250 with the power stoke, auto.Running some errands around this week end,and truck is warmed up and going down the highway at 55,or so. And all of a sudden blue smoke pours out of the tail pipe.does this for a few seconds and then goes away. it did this twice in a 10 mile strech. is their by chance something simple to check first,or is my turbo seals going out, truck only has 120000 miles on her. Thanks for the help....God bless

We had an intermitant problem with a 2005 powerstroke in an e350 van and it would run like crap and pour smoke then stop smokeing and run fine. It was a wire chafe on the egr valve circuit. It would cause the egr valve to divert exhaust into the intake when it shouldn't gagging the engine on its own exhaust. It didn't get enough oxygen to burn the fuel hence the clouds of smoke. It was nearly new so it was "fixed" twice by Ford. We were told Ford had had a lot of that with the PS and had a bulletin out on it.

i belive on the bottom of the injectors there is a 0-ring that can go bad dumping oil into the cly. though most of the time when one goes bad it bruns all the oil from engine. could be the start of your problem

Remove the intake pipes nd see if you can wiggle the the compressor wheel any, I bet you can, also look for worn, sharp edges on the blades.

sounds like a little trash in the fuel. i had one do the same thing, also the p s dont put return fuel to the tank cold fuel can gel driveing down the road a little starve on fuel will make it smoke , knock , jump, the older 7.3 put fuel back to the tank once you start down the road the fuel tank will b warm to the touch evean at 0 degree the power stroke will freeze up driveing down the road very important to keep the fuel treated in cold weather

Unless hes refering to the 6.0, I have no experience with those.I have a regualted return on my 01 so I know it goes back to the tank since it still uses the origianl return hose.
